Yoga Retreat and Holiday Calendar

The Bhagavad Gita is perhaps the most important text in Vedanta. It’s one of the three main source texts: the Upanishads and the Brahma Sutras being the other two. It draws its main ideas from the Upanishads. It encompasses; Karma Yoga, Dharma Yoga and Jnana Yoga. It is a dharma shastra as well a moksha shastra. Shastra means a weapon, and it means ‘scripture.’ Why is the scripture a weapon? Because it protects you from great suffering. It’s a dharma shastra and a moksha shastra because it covers the two topics that are the subject matter of the Vedic texts; Karma Yoga and knowledge yoga, in other words; experience and knowledge. Bhagavad Gita, deals with the relationship between action and knowledge, so it’s got everything. That is the beauty of it!
